Hello:

We would like to measure the hardness of an adhesive, preferably after it has been welded to a substrate. After welding, the adhesive is approximately .001" thick and .004" wide. Thank you and have a great day,

Steved

Why don't you check with the adhesive supplier itself. I am sure it is influenced by the sustrate, unless you subtract the value that you recived on the plain subtsrate.

There are some prominent suppliers like - CONAP, LOCT-Tite, WELD-Bond, ConaThane, 3-M, Scotch, Kodak, Emerson and Cummings, Dow-Corning, Dow chemical, GE plastics & Silicones division etc. Check with them may be they have an established ASTM procedure.
