Hello,

We have just moved from XP computers to W7 computers. On both we are running Ansys 12.1 classic.

On the old computers I used to select graphics device W32C in the product launcher in order to make nice 50 color plots.

With the command

"/ui,copy,save,JPEG,graph,color,reverse,landscape,no,100"

I used to make clear screenshots to insert in my documents. All very convenient.

On the new computers the same method creates very blurry pictures, no matter what JPEG settings I use. Please see attached example.

On the new computer the product launcher also allows selection of graphics device "3D". This option shows nice colors, but immediately results in a crash upon the command.

Any ideas?

Strange. Have you tried outputting in the PNG format instead?

Well, the cool thing about JPG is that it is commonly accepted by standard programs, including those of the client. I am not sure if the client accepts PNG plots...

What software are they using? PNG files go right into Powerpoint. JPEG files generally don't handle text or line images well; they're really best for photos.

It is strange that the behavior has changed though.

try this

1) Unselect the cleartype
2)
- Click Start Orb > right-click computer > click properties
- On the left pane click Advanced system settings
- Under performance click Settings
- Check mark Smooth edges of screen fonts
- Click OK > click OK
