Hello,

recently switched to nx8.5 from nx7.5. I'm searching for the setting in the 'Make displayed part' function, on how to make components visible (automatically)in the new view. So assy is loaded and all components are visible, in the part navigator I select a subassy and choose 'Make displayed part', in this subassy the components are loaded but not visible, have to check them manually in part navigator or choose 'Show' on top level with RMB.
Please have a look at the attachment it's clearer what I'm trying to achieve. Searched this forum and customer defaults for it but couldn't find anything related.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Michaël.

I've only seen that happen when the subassembly was saved with the components hidden. Everything is visible in the top level assembly, but when you make the subassembly the display part, the components are hidden (as saved).

Is this happening on all your subassemblies or just certain ones?

Thank you for the answer Cowski.
All the assemblies and all our users. Strange thing is when opening the subassy with file open command, all components are loaded and visible. Once you have saved the subassy or preform a revision increase, the make displayed part will show all components.
We did had to do a refile on all our parts because the upgrade to nx8.5 (due to SOA errors and FCC proxy function errors).
Here are the parameters "-structure_sync=no -compression=compress -non_masters=yes -update_mod_props=no -cleanup=no -regen_lw_def_tol -refile_released=yes" I can't see anything related to hidden...

Michael,

I suspect that if the "-y" option was not used during the refile operation that the assembly part was refiled without having any children loaded which would create the situation that Cowski had suggested, except that the save was done during the refile instead of by the user.

HTH,

Joe

Joe, you were correct, the -y option was needed.
Thank you for the solution!

Michaël.
