LZ requirement in design

IN A STRUCTURE ANALYSIS WHEN WE SPECIFY KZ VALUES (FOR BEAM-COLUMN JOINTS), THEN WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF SPECIFIYING LZ VALUES?

The KZ has to do with end fixitivity. The LZ is the unbraced length. The default for L is node to node. If you have a member that has several intermediate nodes but is not braced it that direction you will need to designate LZ.
