Locating a part in an assembly 1

I have a large assembly from a customer and also a parts list created from that assembly. Is there a way I can type in a part number and have it highlight the part in the assembly? I do not want to have to dig through multiple sub-assemblies looking for the part in the parth finder.

In the Edge Bar, click on the Select Tools tab (a folder icon with a ? on it).
To do a quick query, RMB on the drop-down box and select the property you want to search on.
For filename use the 'name' property.
Now in the box type in the string you want to search for and then click the green 'Go' arrow,

There is also the more advanced query - same place but click on the icon that looks like a question mark with a star.
In there you can build different search options and it will save the search in the list on the edge bar.

What I like about the quick query is the fact that it tells you how many instances of the part have been found. I've often used that for checking the quantity of a part in an assembly (especially when someone has got patterns over the top of other instances)
