When designing beams and columns that will be used to shore up a roof girder in order to repair a section of building column, is there a code mandated load factor that must be used to design the beams and columns that will temporarily support the column until it has been repaired? If so, what is the factor, and reference? If not, is 2 a reasonable number?

Where do you practice? One of the best and most detailed manuals is from Honk Kong... There are also good design manuals for this purpose out of the UK and the US.
