Level / Temp switch

Hi,
I have a fairly old hydraulic unit and it has a combined level / temp switch screwed into the top of the reservoir by a 1 in plug but i can't find any details or makers name on this item its 10 in long with a float around the bottom of the shaft.
There are also three red leads coming from it one with a brown flec one white and one plain red, any suggestions as to color coding for connections as i am getting readings across all three when out of tank.

One is a common hot lead in, one is cold lead out from temp. sensor, one is cold out from level float.

The quickest way to determine which is which is to open the ECP and find the terminals which these wires land on. If there is still a ladder logic diagram in the ECP or O&M manual, you can easily deduce what each wire does (especially if the terminals are numbered, but even if not). If there is no ladder logic, you will have to trace the wires from the terminals. The hot will, of course, go to a pwere switch/xformer/fuse. The colds will signal a relay or indicator. This will tell you what parameter is beign signalled.
