I'm looking for a way to import sketch points into a sketch. The sketch is used as a sketch driven pattern for other features. The sketch (pattern) contains hundreds of points that are currently in an excel spreadsheet. It seems silly to one by one select a point then enter the xy coords then "fix" it in place. Is there an easier (less manual) way of doing this?

Tick - I downloaded the macro... created a new part (for testing the macro), then ran the macro. It generates an error..

Run-time error '71':
Disk not ready

Q: Is the txt file with the macro file the xy data source? Or am I doing soemthing wrong?

Tick - Nevermind, figured out the problem. THe macro was pointing to a temp dir on D:\ (which is my CDROM). Changed the drive letter to C:\ and it works great!

Thanks!

I might have a slightly improved version of that macro in my file pile. I'll check this evening.

Hey JWAGSTAFF...
Are you - by chance - making airfoil templates?

I'm gonna check this thread for replies - I wanna do that too!

TheTicK,

I would be interested in your improved version of that macro. I'm doing some gerotor profiles and have coordinate data to read in. I would appreciate notification. Thanks

Hey all,

Anybody have an updated link for that macro? Doesn't seem to be working for me.

Thanks

I'm not sure of your exact situation but if you have a table created wouldn't it be easier to use a "Table driven pattern" in place of going through all the steps to create a sketch and macro to create a sketch driven pattern?
