As per the BS for concrete, there is a slump called "SHEAR" slump and if such a slump occurs the test shall be repeated. If the repeated result is also a "SHEAR" what is the meaning or action to be taken. Please educate me.

Kind regards.

A shearing slump is one that falls off to one side or only one side falls relative to the other. A good slump test will drop relatively straight down from its top center.

Shearing is usually caused by improper technique or equipment that is not properly cleaned. If the cone is twisted during lifting, it can cause shearing. Improper or inconsistent rodding can also cause it.

that is happening some times and you should check concrete mix plant may be some thing is wrong in mix design

gabri17...it is more likely that something is wrong with the technique of performing the test than for the mix design.

shear usually happen when the slump cone is not wetted before test
