I am trying to understand what the correct practice is for intermittent welds for a non-primary member.
The code in question reads:
"6.5.1 ...Welds shall be made on both sides of the joint for at least 25% of its length."
Does the 25% mean that the total length of the welds on both sides =25%
or
That the amount of weld on one side = 25% and the welds are adjacent to each other along the member.
