Insert Design Tables in drawings

I'd like to insert a design table into a drawing but Insert--> Tables --> Design Table... is greyed out. I've searched this forum and Solidworks help but with no luck. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You need to select a view first.

First, do you have the table created in the part/assembly file? Then you can insert the design table into the drawing.

The design table will display in the drawing exactly as it appears in the part/assembly document.
