I'm having a laser shop cut some parts for me out of 304 ss with a mirror finish. Every start point of the laser on inside cuts of slots that are .060 wide I get spatter that blows out and sticks to the part.
Is there a way to avoid this?

Thanks for any and all help.

Adjust the lead in if is possible and depends of the laser machine -modify the laser piercing power and gas pressure. Something what I do if none of this is working is I spray the sheet with welder anti spatter solution and for as everything is working perfect

Agree 100% with laserbyspeed. Pulse piercing may be a possibility too but I prefer spraying the sheet with anti-spatter solution. This works the best.

If it's possible you can pierce with low oxygen gas pressure and power and cut after with nitrogen I guess Remenber to make a dwell between those gas !!
