I'm just curious if anyone has direct experience with using this product by Master Builders. It is a heavy-duty metallic aggregate topping. It's supposed to have an abrasion resistance that is 8 times that of concrete. My application is for a slab on grade in a steel mill where a loader pushes scrap across it. The current concrete slab lasted about 4-5 years before the loader wore deep ruts in the slab and started to dig out the rebar. It appears to hold up well in the waste industry where a loader pushes garbage across it, but I was hoping someone in the forum might have some experience with this topping.

I've seen it used in the load dock areas of auto assembly plants.

I've also seen steel plate decking used for a tough floor.

Do you know how well it held up in the load dock? Were there any difficulties or problems during installation? Your opinion of the product?

I've seen it used in a trash transfer station slab. We had to remove the first slab section because it didn't hold up the first time. The replacement slab worked and is still in use after 8 years.

Was the first slab section just concrete or did it have the anvil top on it? If it had the anvil top, do you know why it didn't last?

Used a similar product from Sika. Problem was after a short time, the metal fibers rust and leave a dark orange colour. Client was not pleased since it really darkened the warehouse.
