Handy Device to Measure Wattage And/Or Lumens

Hi,

I'm looking for handy device to measure wattage / lumens of compact fluorescent lamps.

Any such device available? Sugesstions are welcome.

You're looking for a 'photometer'. Google about.

You also need to come up with a quantitative way to measure things. If you just look at a CF bulb it will mean almost nothing as it is an extended source. Meaning the light issues from an area. You could have a CF bulb that is intensely bright but because the area is small lights a room/area poorly. Take a white Christmas Bulb, it can be very bright to look at.. won't light your table top.

So you may need to come up with something like a white piece of cardboard placed 8 ft from the CF bulb and the photometer then held at x degrees y feet from the cardboard focused on the center of the cardboard. Etc.

There may be a standard if you want to find it.

Engineers designing lighting want to know how much light is hitting surfaces not the brightness of the actual sources generally. (That's color temperature.)

The above is 120 VAC, 60 Hz. I'm looking for 220-240V, 50 Hz, less expensive and that can measure wattage.

Huh? That doesn't measure lumens or light output?!?

I know because I have one of them.
It works really, really well. It is a nicely designed product.

I used it and a log book to audit my entire house. It is nice because it does kwhrs So you run a load/s thru it for a day or so and you have the average energy consumption of the load. Things like a refrigerator absolutely require that treatment to get a useful result.

Is the actual makers site. They do mention higher voltages. They actively support the product - you should contact them.
