Does anyone know where I can find good information on the construction method for guided auger bores? Also any information on settlement compared to other methods of small diameter tunnelling.

Any information would be great as I am struggling to find info on this specific method.

Thanks in Advance.

I don't know this method.

I would have expected either directional drilling which is a displacement method and then a pipe pulled into the void. Or pipe jacking (or micro tunneling) in this case if the soil is excavated instead of dispaced an auger can be used.

bimr,

Thanks, that is great.

Zambo,

We have used those methods also but we have chosen to go with the Guided Auger Bore this time for a number of reasons.

Our guys use HDD almost on a weekly basis.

Pipe jacking and micro tunnelling tend to be very expensive over here in the UK.
