As a consulting engineer i often have a hard time making vendors come up with "hard data". They seem to think that since i dont buy anything im not worth wasting time on. And i can understand that im often put in the bottom of the pile for this reason.

So: Anybody got a good web source for compressor curves? This could either be a vendor that actually make these data avaiable on the net or another source (magazine ???)

Best regards

I know of the solar pages - i have an "account" there. But the page that you refer to is a gasturbine. I would like the compressor curves Flow/head/efficiency at various speeds.

These data i cant find here.

Thanks anyway :)

Ariel Corp. makes available their entire perfomance software package which is really pretty stellar. It'll kick out curves and other data all day long. They deal in reciprocating compressors.

I think Dresser-Rand also allows you to download some type of performance software for their machines but I don't have any experience with it.

Ariel is the best for recips by a long margin, but you can also get Ajax's program from Cooper's web site. For flooded screws Gardner Denver's program is very good and available on their website. Frick and Sullair also have good progams for screws, but they are really hard to get your hands on.

Great stuff guys and im sure to save this - unfortunately im looking for a 12 MW centrifugal compresor.

I've found technical information on centrifigul compressors to be pretty sparse on the World Wide Web. As it seems that I'm getting close to meaningful data I run into the "contact us for information" screen with either a form that never gets a response or a phone number that doesn't elicit a return call. If you find something worthwhile post a link.

The main reason there is no compressor curves out there is that centifical compressors are custom made on most units. Solar is different. Solar makes standard size and areodymanic property wheels. Wheels are arranged in the compressor with the use of programs and expertise. Solar use to distribute their compressor data/computer program. But I have not searched or asked for it from my representative in a long time.

I can imagine that - but still its a bit of a pain for a humble consulting engineer who newer buys anything...
