Glueing

I'm glueing a Pebax 72D tube to a PC touhy borst with UV light and I'm getting poor results. I'm getting lots of voids and bubbles after curing. It looks like the glue is delaminating from the Pebax. It's a Dymax glue and the glue gap is 0.5mm. I've tried adjusting light intensity, distance from light guides, curing time. My next step is to reduce the glue gap to reduce shrinkage/delamination.
Have anyone come across this problem before?

No, but I'm not surprised. Pebax is difficult to glue.

3M make a range of glues and adhesive tapes that might work, but assembly methods will be a problem.

Which type of Dymax glue are you using? Maybe the type of glue does not fit the application. I know there are many different types of Dymax glues.

Do you think you might be using to much?
Did you prepare the surface?
How are you applying the glue? Syringe, 10cc or 30cc?

As JSF Swiss mentioned we make many types of adhesives. Some are not suitable for bonding Pebax. I will make an assumption that this is a disposable medical device. We offer a few biocompatible adhesives that will bond to Pebax. As you are finding, PC is rather easy to bond.

If you can provide information on the specific Dymax adhesive used, we can help identify if you are using the best one for the application.

Reducing the gap will not help if the adhesive does not bond to Pebax.
