Can anyone let me know;

How to Calculate flag thickness in Pressure vessel and tank?

Flag? Or flange? Calcualtions are usually per design code. Which one is applicable and have you read it?

It is the Flag thickness. NOT flange thickness. I think flag thickness mean t_min for given pressure and temperature

It appear that you are referring to the Code-minimum thickness. This would be the thickness that one would use as a criteria or "flag" that would indicate that "something" needs to be done.

If so, these calculations are typically found in the original fabrication documentation calculations. The method for performing them depends on the original Code of Construction, including the allowable stress basis from the time of fabrication.

demsha, you need to use proper engineering terms as defined in the relevant codes and standards and advise which code and standard you're talking about.


"Flag thickness" may or may not be what you think " I think flag thickness mean... " and appears to be a phrase used by someone which ha no definition.

how you calculate anything is down to the inputs into the required calculations and checks as defined by the relevant design code for a pressure vessel ( Often ASME VIII) or a tank (say API 650).

This is an incredibly vague question with zero details so I'm going to stop now.
