Hi,

I have a requirement where I need to retrieve data from a database and write the data to pdf files. The constraint is that the user doesn't have MS office installed on its machine.

I have realised that, to do so,I will have to first convert the text file to post script and then post script to PDF.

Is any one aware of any free tool to convert text to pdf?
or any tool to convert text to post script?

Thanks
Tushar

You may want to consider a pdf printer driver. After you install one of these you can choose the "pdf printer" from your "print" options and it will send your document to a pdf file instead of a physical printer.

If you google "pdf printer driver" or similar terms you will find dozens of options some of which are even free. I have had good success with PDF995, which has a free option as long as you don't mind a nag screen but the registered version is only ~$20.
