Before I meet with my design consultant about adding ethernet to our temperature control I'd like to do a little research myself. We manufacture a temperature control that has a 485 bus. I am hoping to design a tiny proprietary ethernet interface that will connect to our 485. Can you recommend a supplier for the ethernet connection components? I have seen similar devices that are barely larger than the RJ45 connector but I do not remember who makes it.

Are you talking about the physical connection components, or the control components?

If we learn from our mistakes I'm getting a great education!

MacGyver, I would like to find a product that has the wire connection with the control components packaged so that all we have to do is add a microcontroller and a 485 transceiver.

ScottyUK, thank you for the Lantronix reference. I have made an inquiry with them as it looks like they offer products we need.
