EPANET single period hydraulic modeling

What are the benefit/drawbacks of EPANET single period hydraulic modeling? Why use a EPANET single period hydraulic modeling when extended period would seem more accurate?

With EPANET, or with some other similar programs, you have the choice of a single "Snapshot in time" OR Extended Period which takes several snapshots at your choice of times.
Each has it's purpose - it all depends on what your purpose is.
