Any suggestions for a dry lube (mil-spec or other)? No high speeds, intermittent use, mechanism is S.S., will eventually be in military use on flightline.

Yes, a boron compound, especially if the SS can be seasoned by applying when heated and then cooled for working temperatures (in use will withstand extreme cold and extreme heat), then there is spray on Teflon and DryFilm by DuPont.

Spray-on dry film is what we are going with. We have only found a few that are air cured, versus heat cured. We would rather forego the heat cured type. Finally got lucky with Permaslick-g by EM Coatings. It conforms to at least one mil-spec, which helps.

There is a dry lube that I have used on a hot stamping process. It is a clear extremely thin coating that is self bonding and requires no heat to cure. It can be found at
Good luck,

Malcolm
