draw a Soil long profile

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I have a question regarding the modeling of the soil data. I have 3 CPT results like that :

CPT1 : Distance on the axis 0m
Depth(m) Soil
0.5 Sand
1 Clay
1.5 Sand
2 Sand

CPT2: Distance on the axis 50m
Depth(m) Soil type
0.5 Clay
1 Clay
1.5 Galcial till
2 Sand

CPT3: Distance on the axis 100m
Depth(m) Soil type
0.5 Sand
1 Sand
1.5 Clay
2 Galcial till

I want now to create a long profile (100m long) showing the soil classification at each depth with different colors like Yellow for sand, Green for Clay and Gray for Glacial till (such a normal subsurface profile). How can I do that? Is there any free software or maybe an excel sheet ? I am not expert on that but I tried and I did not found anything.

Please check an example of the profile needed in the attachment.

I have not heard of software that creates geological long sections for you. I dont think it would be that good as it needs a certain amount of engineering judgement as you are inferring ground conditions between locations.

For 3 CPTs it would be quicker to do it in CAD or by hand, especially where theyre 2m deep.
 
The manner in which you model the geological profile relies on an understanding of the layers and their modes of origin. It takes many years to be able to do this accurately- in some cases it is as simple as placing one layer on top of the other, referred to as "layer-cake" fashion. In other cases, the arrangement of layers is very complex- some layers cut across others, terminate abruptly, bifurcate etc.

If I were in your shoes and the results could have a material affect, I would refuse to draw the long section and simply provide the profiles- let others interpret it how they'd like. If you are interpreting it yourself, I would assume the worst-case profile for the line of work you are looking at and just go with that, subject to more data being provided.

A side note- I'm not sure how you have 3 CPT tests that only go to 2m depth? These tests are expensive and usually used for deep ground investigations. Another important point is that unless the CPT results are verified by test holes, you will never know exactly what soils you are dealing with in any case.

Guys. I just tried to simplify the problem as we are only interested up to 2 m depth.
The results have been provided to us based on scientific studies. For us, it is enough to draw such a profile showing the soil type to know which tool we have to use for the dredging.
So I just rely want to visualize the data in beautiful colored profile instead of having numbers and photos on each location of CPT or VC. I did that manually using AutoCAD but it is time consuming, so I thought maybe someone here can advice.
