We have a Wenzel CMM in our shop. I started training on it a few months ago. Also a few months ago, the tool was having some problems such that we had to call in a vendor. While he was on site he gave my coworker and me some training. A the time, the training was very basic because I was just starting. But now that I've learned a lot more and have gotten used to it, I have more advanced questions, but it seems like there a too few resources out there. I can't find anything useful that explains DMIS code. Not that I would want to make inspection programs from scratch, but, I asked the vendor if DMIS has programming language features like if/else statements and while loops. He said it did and showed me a quick example. That helps, but I would like to learn what else I can do with the language. Is there anything out there?
Also, we use OpenDMIS. That seems to make us the odd-man-out. It seems the vast majority use PC-DMIS. Is that right? What exactly is the difference? DMIS is a standardized language right?
