Hello,

I have been working on a project to submit for my PG program where in I have to model a structure in L shape with 6m spacing between columns and of 10 stories. The type of slab configuration adapted is Flat slab with drops and also shear walls protecting the corners on the building. Can somebody check and tell me what mistake i have been making since the deflections post analysis are beyond normal (500k mm). kindly help me correct my mistake and analyze this building using response spectrum method.

Regards

Hi Ali,

I changed the shell types from membrane to shell-thin, assigned a default mesh as opposed to Auto-Cookie Cut and manually split the shells over the column lines. See deflection results from the attachement (Max deflection = -1.189 mm)

Any reason why you assigned a membrane type slab specifically?

Hope this helps.
