cutting from coil

There are lots of machines available which can laser cut individual stainless steel sheets into components. Does anyone know if there is equipment made which can accept coils of steel and cut componenets from them?

I don't know if anyone configures a standard unit in such a way. Some standalone laser cutters could accept a through-flow from a coil.

One approach would be a flying-optics machine, where the material could be fed in, the parts cut, and the scrap trimmed (probably by the laser) and dragged off by some unloading device.

Of course, a lot depends on the configuration of the parts to be cut- how they can be handled, etc.

For fairly thin sheet, even a hybrid machine (Amada's Pulsar) can be used- just need a good sag of sheet between the machine and the coil/leveller equipment.
