Creating a report

Hi
Can somebody let me know what is the best way to export the results into a presentable report? I am analysing reaction forces from a glass plate

Abaqus has built-in report generation feature (Plug-ins --> Tools --> Report Generator) where you can set which data will be included and in what format. However, in most cases we prepare the reports manually.

How would you go about doing it manually ? I guess it’s not print screen paste

Well, good and comprehensive report requires quite a lot of work and its content depends on the requirements of the person or institution that will receive the report. Usually the following data is included:
1) Introduction, goals of the analysis
2) Geometry, often with dimensions
3) Mesh, including number of elements, nodes and DOFs
4) Material properties
5) Analysis steps
6) Boundary conditions and loads
7) Interactions
8) Results - contour and XY plots, depending on the purpose and type of the analysis
9) Summary of the results
10) Attachments, resources (if needed)

Mostly those are screenshots from Abaqus but you will need to add descriptions as well. And screenshots can be produced in the Abaqus itself, using File —> Print.

Although I am not certain, I think NAFEMS has an excellent resource on documentation of simulations.
