Create a product out of a Multi-Body Part 2

Can the bodies of a multi-body part be isolated from each other so I can delete any body of the part? I want to create a "save as" file for each body and delete the bodies in each file I don't want. I will then create a product with the individual files. Our shop does not want to work with an assembly that was created in a part with multi-bodies.

Think the best way is to use powercopy to get the features over to a new part with intelligence.

Do they want to make the single parts? I have worked with a welded assembly created as a multi body solid. As all the parts were created with a lot of common geometry it was a nightmare to break them into single parts. I think (it was a while ago)for the the first attempt 'copy and paste as result' each separate body into a new model and then produced the single part changes inside the new part. you can then build these parts into a new product. Copy and paste with link should also work

Yes they want individual parts. I wanted to create "save as" files and delete the bodies for each part that I did not want to use so I could maintain position when I copy them into a new product however one body could not be deleted without deleting all the other bodies and when I pasted a body into a new part I got an error about not finding a reference (not completely sure of the error since I am not currently at work). I am looking for a solid direction since the products we receive from our customer can have several hundred parts that are actually assemblies with the use of multi-bodies. Also most bodies have references from surfaces where they will installed next to.

It copy/paste as result each body into a catpart, re-assembles as a product.

I'd agree with 1oldcaduser. I had to do this a while ago and I believe I ended up just copying and pasting the bodies into new parts. I believe you can just "isolate" anything that is referencing the old product but this could cause problems down the road if you need to make changes.
