Yes ... your VAR, thats what they are there for. If you don't have one pick a supplier from the following SW list & phone or email them for an accurate up to date price.

[cheers] from (the City of) Barrie, Ontario.

[lol] Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film. [lol]

I'm not authorized to call him. And before I ask my boss(owner), I'd like to know a ball park figure becase if its a lot I won't even bother. If its affordable I'll ask. I could fight my way through with cosmos express but I'd like to justify it first. You know how it is: "there he is again asking for more." "can't you make due with what you have?"

It's going to depend on what you want to buy... Cosmos, Geostar, Floworks. If you say just Cosmos... now you have a number of different packages, beginner, intermidiate, advanaced. You can mix match them.... or what ever. So the price can vary ALOT.

So if you have and idea of what your looking for then post that here. Otherwise call your VAR or have the authorized person call... who ever that maybe and have them get you a number or quote for what your looking for.

Scott
I have an accurate assembly model that I drew in solidworks 2004, of a part lifting and flipping (8000 lb capacity)truck of sorts and I need to analyze the stresses (buckling, bending, yeilding) of the structure and make sure that it has enough strength (safty factor 2) to lift the part and to rotate the part 180 deg and back down without failing.
Hope thats enough info
Thanks

I think you need the Cosmos/Works Professional package, which is the most basic one besides CosmosExpress (free in SolidWorks). I think cost is about $7k, not including training and annual maintance.

We just a cost of the COSMOS Designer package for Solidworks. It's ~$3,000 with a $1,000 maintenance package.

Creech;
Not to speak for Scott, but I think he intended you to go to the web site he gave you and review the different packages offered, decide which one suits your needs and skill level. If you do this and report your findings here there are individuals that will give you approximate pricing of those packages. If you are not qualified to decide which package you need for your analysis, then I would suggest not buying software but obtaining the services of someone qualified to do the analysis for you. FEA is not something just pick-up and use safely.
