Copying MS Details to Excel

Hi all.

I would appreciate advice on the most effective way to copy details from microstation (version J) to Excel, Word etc.

I have tried this recently and have found that large line weights show up as several individual lines and the line weight overall is light, which appears to be a function of the color that is being used. The color that I'm using were dictated by CADD Standards.

Hi Qshake,
I am not quite getting what do you want. However you can paste the MS graphics as a dumb picture to word/excel etc. Fit into your MS screen whatever you want to insert and give key-in command "oleserve viewcopy". This will 'cut' the picture into clipboard and you can paste the same to your application by RightClick->Paste or ctrl+v.

It's difficult to "get what you want" but you might be able to "get what you need."

Here's how:

1. I must assume that you're going to copy a picture into MSsomething. I often make presentations in PowerPoint using Microstation drawings and it's all cut-an paste - sort of.

2. Utilities>Image>Capture>rectangle will give you outstanding results. I'll let you figure out the rest...

Thank you both for the replies.

I tried the "utilities\image\capture" approach and it worked fine. I had only to reverse the image via MSPhoto editior as I work with a black background. Otherwise the line weight (thickness) was correct or as we used to say "wysiwyg".

The process that precipitated the post was select elements and use the copy button, then paste on to the MS application. This result had no line weight to speak of at all.
