Can anyone tell me how I can take a 3-D image finished in Mechanical Desktop 2000 into a 2-D file. I never work in 2-D and would like a simple conversion process from 3-D. I need to import the 2-D file into CimCad for conversion into G-code. Can I do the 3-D to 2-D conversion in AutoCad 2000? If so, please (please) tell me the steps to do this? Thanks a ton!

How about exporting to dxf-format and then ignoring the 3. coordinate in the set (x,y,z)?
I have no idea of, what Acad2000 might export to, but dxf is something you can read with a notepad or, if needed a calc-sheet of some kind. Morten K. Thillemann

In Mechanical Desktop 5.0 all you need to do to generate a 2d drawing is make a layout of whatever you want to export. While in drawing mode use the command AMVIEWOUT. This will export the view you select to a location of your choice.
