concrete pumping - pipeline pinging noise

Hi,
Does anyone know how to stop the pinging noise at discharge end of a long pipeline (1000m)? I've been told by some contractors to make an accumulator of air with a tee? I'd like to do some homework before I just start slapping in things to try.
