Hi All,
Just thought I would warn members regarding the above thread. Within the thread there is an attachment example provided by L S Thill for Trunnion Checks. Please take care if you adopt the formulae on this spreadsheet as it is erroneous. The example gives a total Combined stress of 163.03 N/Sqmm. The correct value using the applicable formulae is around 258 N/Sqmm. (i.e. the approach is not correct in the spreadsheet)

Suggest another correction. The expression of the stress units as "N/Sqmm" is unconventional. It should be MPa.

N/Sqmm are perfectly acceptable units for stress and equate to MPa so I beleive you are incorrect in this instance.
