This is a topic I started in the 'structural engineering other topics forum' concerning the ACI 313-97 specification, and there were some very good posts including references. The most comprehensive book is by Gaylord and Gaylord titled 'Design of Steel Bins for the Storage of Bulk Solids.' If you will be designing more bins you should try to locate a copy of this book.
