Is anyone aware of a good, quality, less-expensive alternative to AutoTurn that will work with MicroStation? I work for a small firm and the $3100 cost is prohibitive, especially since it is something we would not frquently need to use. Also, I have quite honestly not been happy with the quality of other Transoft software I have used in the past.

I used to work in a small office and the cost of buying fancy software like Autoturn was not commercially viable

We used the CAD templates published by the Freight Transport Association (UK). Nowhere near as clever because they are basically just blocks showing minumum bend radius and distance for various sizes of vehicle. I dont remember if they are .dxf or .dwg but they can be converted to Microstation

These cost £160 and come with a book (which you must purchase as its a pre-requisite).

Nothing fancy or clever, but they allowed us to check whether a vehicle could negotiate a corner, and more often that not, thats all that was needed.

It might be worth checking to see if there is a US equivalent.
