Are you sure they are ASME approved?

I just checked several of them and they aren't in ASME Y14.38-1999 Abbreviations And Acronyms or are in with different definitions.

For instance BATT is batten in Y14.38 while your link says it's battery. In 14.38 battery is BTRY.

I've found most online lists of acryonyms don't follow 14.38 very closely.

If you can find an online copy of MIL-STD 12 that may be better but there are differences between it and 14.38.

You're right! I just checked a couple against MIL-STD-12....what was I thinking posting an unapproved website I guess I was trying to harvest some stars.

Hey, I didn't red flag it;-)

It's frustrating though when something looks good, says it's good but turns out not to be.

While I try and remember that anything on the web is guilty until proven innocent, I probably fail sometimes.
