ASME- and European Standard (EN) PQR differences.

Hello,

I am looking for a comparisonlist showing the required ASME and EN PQR testcoupons (types,amounts, testmethods, deviations, acc. criteria) for different welding situations. (Proces(ses), basemetal-type(s), -thicknesses, joint configs, etc.etc.)
I am convinced that this wheel has been invented already.
Please let me know if you have such a list, or if you have any tips with regard to this issue.

Yes, Review ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section IX. I am not familar with EN standards, however, the review process would be the same - lay each Code book side-by-side and review them.

The simplest idea would be to consider that PED does accept ASME code, provided that some supplementary conditions are fulfilled. If you want to plunge into a comparative study, it will take you a lot of time, such things being reglemented by a whole set of rules (EN 297, EN473, etc), for each particular (Welder's qualification, NDE examiners' qualification, a.s.o.), which are quite different to ASME.
