ASCE7-10 Chapter 20 provides a procedure to determine the site classification of the site soil. The depth of soil where the building locates is 100 feet. The width of soil, I think, could be ignored if the buidling is not tremendous large, such as a normal office building or apartment building. But for the super-long structure, take an airport terminal project which I am designing for example, the length of the whole building would be more than 1km. The site classification makes me headache on determing it as Sa or Se. The questions are listed in the attachment. Your any responses will be appreciated.
