Hi
I have a cantilever column subject to moment, I am concerned about the bottom part, so I just have a column section of 1 meter long (Total length is 10 m).

Should I define the moment to be applied at the top of the 1 meter section?
Or should I select the whole column surfaces and apply that moment to?

Regards

Can't this be done with a hand calculation? Can you post a free body diagram of your problem?

I am abaqus user. In abaqus i have used coupling constraint to descript the kenematic or distribution force on section . Have coupling constraint in Ansys?.
