Colleagues:
I understand that my organization is looking for a senior geotechnical engineer to work on the project here in Indonesia. Hydropower dam. Expertise would be needed in rock mechanics - rock bolting (prescription and installation overseeing), diversion tunnel construction, adit rock shear test, etc. As well, they have a lot of geotechnical issues in the mining and plant expansion areas - soft to firm clays - deep to rock; and these might be possible spin-offs, too. Currenly I am working on at least 10 non-related projects to my actual assigned hydrodam project.
I only pass this on as a possibility as I understand that they have a few potential candidates - but I do not know what the exact position is.
We live in a town having a 9-hole golf course, a lake onto which you can boat or raft, etc. Lots of expats (Aussies, Kiwis, Canucks, Yankees, etc). Must (should) like rugby !!
If you know of anyone who might be interested and would be suitable, you can let me know. Time frame is short. Overseas work typically starts at 30-35 to 45 unless one has overseas experience - but this might not be an issue here. friesh at inco point com
Also - if you have seen other geotechs on the sites that might be good for our group, please advise me so I can invite them.
