I just learned that after the 8th LRFD Edition is published in 2017, AASHTO is going to a 3 year publication cycle with no interim specifications in between. I for one am quite pleased to hear this.

Praise the lord and pass the taters!!

If it does, I'm to the point that I'd gladly pay it! I work in a state where we typically work under the most current version at the time a contract with the DOT is executed so we're constantly juggling which project is under which code. To make matters worse, a projects priority can/is regularly shifted around in their work plan and it's not uncommon to have projects stall for months if not years at a time.
