I'm working with ANSYS and make modells of buildings, bridges, etc.
Can someone tell me if Alibre is good for drowing such kind of things?
Thanks

Certainly. It's a good, inexpensive solid modeller. Maybe not as powerful and feature-rich as SolidWorks, Inventor, and the other higher-end packages like Catia, Unigraphics. But is a very nice package for doing what you want to do.

I forgot to mention, you would probably have much better discussion response on the Alibre Discussion Group on the Alibre website.

Thats good. But I need something not for solids, but just for points, lines and areas, because I don't use solids very much in ANSYS. And making the geometry in ANSYS interface is very time wasting thing to do...I need a CAD that is easy to use, free if possible and have the power to export in IGES files...

You're trying to do grid generation? Hmmmmm....I know SolidWorks has a cool feature called "Face Curves" that will put a grid of 3D sketch elements across a face in a desired pattern. Can't say though, about Alibre. Better check the Alibre discussion group on their site.
