There was a thread on here just recently about air filters. It seems as though the thread got pulled? Just curious as to what happened and why? Haven"t been on my computer for over the weekend so ,again , just wondering..................... Craig

It probably got red flagged. (1) Perhaps it should have been in a different forum (2) It might have got excessively inane (3) It might have turned into a 'my car is faster than your car' thread (4) It might have turned into a 'fix my car' thread.

Any of those get red-flagged these days.

while we're on the subject, there was that question in spanish in the mech. engr. forum, which I tried to answer (learned some new words in the process), and which "disappeared" shortly thereafter.

Greg,Thanks for the reply. It is possible someone, over the weekend, put up a "poor" reply. As it was when I left it everything seemed fine??.. While I believe the red flag option is a good idea,I hope it does not discourage people from starting a thread, posting on it or replying.I do realize this IS a Pro-Engineering website and some questions, posts, threads are inane, boring ,whatever. I do feel some non-engineers (not necessarily myself) do have something to offer..... I also know I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from all here,To be "chased away" because of my profession would make for a less educated "me"... After all, The reason I hang around this site is to achieve a higher level of knowledge. This forum makes for a better person and a wiser technician.. Craig

Yes that is possible. I don't know who red flagged it, or why. It might have been me, it might not. Anyway, you'd probably be better off posting an air filter question in the Engine and Fuel Engineering forum. The red flags are to keep the discussions within the realms of the charter of the board, and are reviewed by at least one other person before they are applied. It ain't foolproof, but it isn't arbitrary.
