Actualy I was thinking more on the line that active suspension limiting roll and pitch would allow various simplifications of suspension such as parallel a-arms, because dynamic chamber and roll center become less of an issue. Much like if a rather wide front tire is used, center point steering geometry (zero offset and zero steer axis inclination) becomes an option which releaves many of the tradeoffs made in suspension design.
I see lots of research in adapting (semi) active suspension to traditional suspension designs, such as the use of magnetorheological fluid dampers in place of standard dampers. However not much in taking full advantage the flexibility active suspension could give to the overall design.
