    New sub-Assembly references question

Nobody has a better way to move part files and preserve references than the ways I listed above? I feel like there has to be a better way.

    New sub-Assembly references question

I looked in the archives for an answer to my question but I didnt find what I was looking for. (SW 2012) While in an assembly, I would like to take a few parts and create a sub-assembly. These parts have external references (screw holes) defined in the top level. When I create the sub-assembly...

    Move Bodies failing

SW2010 SP5.0 I download models of cylinders (SMC) for example. I take that cylinder assembly and save it as a part file. In the newly created part file, I create configurations of advanced and retracted. I advance the cylinder by inserting a move/Copy bodies feature. I then suppress the...

    View Custom Properties in Explorer

Thanks, That did it. In order to see the new property, I had to save and close my file. Once it showed up, it stayed.

    View Custom Properties in Explorer

Our part files are part numbers only. For example "123-456.sldprt". Looking at that part number, I would have no idea what this part is. I would like to see a description while in windows explorer or when I am in Solid Works and select "file open". Is there a way to display custom properties...

Loft Problem - Min. Rad. of curvature

I've tried surface boundry, solid boundry, surface loft, and solid loft. I have also created just the top portion. I get a vareation of the same result with all of these features. Do all the curvature combs have to match up perfect? I don't think they do. There has to be something wrong with my...

Loft Problem - Min. Rad. of curvature

-Please see the attached file- I have completed a feature using the Loft command. I lofted to a point, but I used guide curves to adjust the profile. It seems like I am getting a little point at the top of my feature that I can't see. I have detected it using the check entity tool. It tells me...

    editing section line in drawing

Instead of locking down the endpoints of the line, lock the line itself down while leaving the end points free. This way you can edit the position of the AA BB without having to edit the base sketch of the section.

    blend colors on a surface

I have a 6" x 6" flat plate. I would like the left half to be red and the right half to be blue. I also want the two colors to blend in the middle, not just go from red to blue. Is this a function in solidworks colors or rendering?

    Rotating/ zooming problem SW2009

CorB 1. If I were mating 2 surfaces, I would select surface 1 then rotate/pan/zoom and select surface 2. 2. I use the mouse wheel as a button to rotate. 3. Since I have changed my computer settings from Windows clasic to Aero, I have not been able to reproduce the problem. Anna, I think you...

    Rotating/ zooming problem SW2009

90% of the people in my company have a rotate/ zoom problem with SW2008/ SW2009. This never happened in SW2006. While in a part or assy (mostly assemblies) if I select a surface and then try and rotate, my assembly rotates, but only in the small command menu box that appears after you select a...
