Thanks for the in-depth insight you provided!
I was able to gather some information, including a rough quote, for our project. Turns out that for all of the above certifications that were desireable to have it would be a 30-40k expense, which was quite a bit higher than we expected...
Curious if there are any coatings out there that will bond well to aluminum and provide excellent elextrical resistance, upwards of 150 kilovolts? Thanks!
I'm hoping a few of the more experienced safety code fellows can lend some insight here. My company and I are trying to get an understanding of what the cost will be for us to get approval from ATEX, FM, CE, UL, and CSA for an electro-mechanical device to be used in an explosive environment...
I have a series of concentric sleeves that pilot onto one another via their OD surfaces, and then engage with a fine pitch thread. I'd like to coat the entire part, with emphasis on coating the threads to prevent gallling and also providing a hard, low friction surface for the pilot surfaces...
When saving the plot as a PDF document, is there a way to change the automatic filename process that Wildfire is doing? Currently it just uses the filename of the drawing file, but I'd like to add a revision letter to the filename for archive purposes. Our part and assembly files have a...
Have not yet taken the Pro/Mechanica course, but was hoping to find a good text I could buy and read/teach myself the program. I have a background in Mechanical Engineering and 4 or 5 years of Pro/E use, so I don't need a novice text - but would like to find a text that explains the basics of...
Not a 100% sure on this, but my guess is that this is related to the animation menus you have in your Windows operating system. Do the drop down menus in MS Word or Excel do the same type of animation? If so, try turning off these feature for all of windows and re-start Pro/E.
I have a case where I am bolting a piece of hardware to a plate. I created one 1/4-20 threaded hole, and patterned the hole to match the 4-bolt pattern on the hardware. I need to place this piece of hardware 4 places on the plate. I'd like to have the ability to pattern the pattern I just...
I've been using Pro/Mechanica fairly succesfully for the past few months and now need to analyze a frame structure that is essentially a backbone of 2'x4' slab of steel, held up with gusset pieces to a base. There are some masses cantilevered off the backbone, and all the parts are bolted...
Oh I've got a list of stupid things that they did too. I wish they'd combine the best of 2001 with the best of Wildfire, then they'd have a real program!

Not quite sure how a variable section sweep would help, the spring will have the same round section throughout. Not sure what a law curve is?
Is it possible to create a helical sweep and have it follow a datum curve or perhaps even go through points like a pipe would?
I'm trying to create a mechanical spring that will be bent in a few directions. Not sure what the best approach is for this. It actually is a continuous length...
