I have two welds proposed for a test head assembly.
The test head is to be used in a pipeline project being constructed to CSA Z662-19
The test head was designed and built to ASME BPVC VIII Div. 1 and ASME B31.8.
Material for weld one is a pipe transition piece using API 5L X70M material, 25.4mm WT.
Material for weld two is API 5L X70M transitioned to 23.8mm WT to be joined with CSA Z245.1 Gr. 483 pipe, 22.2mm WT.
Can the WPS described below be used to make either of the two welds?
Can NDT results be evaluated to ASME B31.3?
WPS: ASME Sec. IX qualified to B31.1 and B31.3
Material Range: P1 G1, 2 & 3 to P1 G1, 2, & 3
Thickness Range: 0.188" (~4.8mm) to 1.000" (25.4mm)
SMAW E6010 (F3) Root E8018-C2 (F4)
Material used for PQR: SA-516 to API 5L X70M
