Wireless connection to Siemens USB/MPI Adaptor

Can anyone suggest a solution to access USB / MPI adaptor remotely. I was thinking of a USB wireless server, anyone had any success. Alternatively if I was to make an extension cable what would be the max length. This is to overcome the provlem of attempting to commision a machine with the main plc +/- 80 meters away, Many thanks.

what is wrong with using an ethernet card? Every plant and warehouse I have been to has ethernet, go with the flow.
