Wind loads on wall clock hands

Hi all

I got an odd question to deal with.
It concerns the hands of a wall clock. I don't know the size of the clock but the length varies up to approximately 2 m. The clock can be in a church tower or something like that so it can be high.

So I have a clock axis with two cantilevers that rotate with time. The dynamics is one question but my primary concern is the wind and the wind effects since the solidity of the wall behind the cantilevers can vary.

Does anybody have any experience from something like this? Ideas would be appreciated.

Thomas

Do you have access to ASCE 7? 7-10, 29.4.2 address Solid Attached Signs and Signs that have a gap behind them no greater than 3ft. That would be a good place to start to develop your wind load.

phamENG,
Yes, I have access to it. And it seems like a reasonable starting point. I have a better look (that I did just now [smile]) and hopefully figure it out.

Thank you.
