It would help if you'd explain waht this forum is about. For example, what does UGS mean ? What does FeMap mean ? Do these terms have something to do with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)?

FEMAP is an finite element pre and post processing program used with Nastrand that is distributed by Unigraphics.

UGS is the name of the company (software maker) that sells FEMAP, as stringmaker stated.

UGS was EDS was Unigraphics Solutions.

For some pleasure reading, try FAQ731-376

Like sombody already said, Femap is a Finite Element pre- and postprocessor that works with Nastran and other solvers. I think that the reason for this forum is due to a request in the Nastran forum (I think it was that forum) for a separate Femap forum.

So far not much activity but we'll just have to wait and see.

Thomas

i guess a snooty way to respond to the post from RWF7437 would be ...
if you have to ask then this forum's not for you !

seriously, i though this forum might discuss recent changes with FEMAP, vis a vis UGS's split with MSC ...

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE DISCUSSION ABOUT THE NEW CHANGES WITH UG FROM NX-2 TO NX-3.

IS ANY ONE ELLS DISAPPOINTED ABOUT IT ?
